Dawn Excellence Farm is located in beautiful and scenic Italy Cross in Nova Scotia. Situated high on a hill just off Exit 15 on the 103, with a gorgeous view of a blue, blue lake; We are only a 10 minute drive from Bridgewater.

We are a private farm, not a public boarding stable; we offer boarding to people craving a quiet, friendly, homey atmosphere for themselves to enjoy their horse in.
If you think we are what your looking for, PLEASE call or email before dropping in, as, yet again, we are not a public drop in center. Our clients are here because they value their privacy, & we have such a tight schedule, its usually hard to drop everything to show "drop-ins" around. Thank you all for your understanding!

Here at Dawn Excellence Farm, our focus is on trying to combine the horses natural comforts with our "human" artificial ones, to create a great atmosphere for our horses. First and foremost, we believe that horses are the healthiest and happiest outdoors. We offer our horses, on rotation, acres of beautiful pastures, combined with woody, shaded areas, both thickly and sparsely wooded; one pasture borders on our lake, another encloses a ages old skating pond, and all boast automatic watering tubs, that never go dry. We make our own hay, first & second crop, what better way to be assured of the quality! The horses have a huge run in shelter situated in the corral, for use in the colder fall months, and winter days, it used to be a sawdust "shed", sizes roughly 30X40. Our barn is an old dairy/beef barn, we only use a small part of it for now. Our box stalls are large and airy, each stall has its own large window, that can be shut or left open depending on the weather, or temperature. Our box stalls are built so that the horses can socialize with each other, without invading personal spaces, all with wall hanging mangers, that hold roughly 1/2 - 3/4 a square bale at a time, with clean buckets, and stall mats. We plan on switching from buckets to automatic water dishes soon; the whole set up is there, its just a matter of actually putting them in! Our largest stall, the foaling stall, is roughly 12X14; the smallest stall is about 10X12. We have built two straight stalls; every horse should know straight stall manners! We have a large tack/feed room, & a separate water room. We also have a outdoor riding ring. Plans for this upcoming year of 2008 include, a few individual turnouts, with shelters; a round pen, & a second corral with shelter
